My latest column in the Wiltshire Gazette & Herald and the Wiltshire Times.
It is important to recognise the exceptional contributions that exceptional individuals and groups make to our lives in Wiltshire.
To prize those who have gone above and beyond to help others in the community or have made an incredible contribution.
In some small way, I would like to help recognise some of those who help make our great county that little bit greater and I am running a small competition to honour them in order to do so.
Almost every week I get requests from constituents for some of the prized tickets to watch Parliament’s weekly showpiece event – Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs).
Tickets are highly sought after because MPs only receive two pairs each year and I have decided to use mine as prizes for local people.
The first will be to reward and recognise voluntary or exceptional work/actions via an Outstanding Achievement Award. Anyone can be nominated, whether it is a neighbour who puts others first, a young achiever or a member of a community group who has helped improved people’s lives.
My Outstanding Achievement Awards celebrate those truly remarkable people who play key roles within our communities or have achieved something amazing.
Throughout the constituency we have inspirational people who do wonderful things whilst asking for no reward or thanks and I am encouraging all local residents to nominate friends, family and workmates and put forward individuals who you think deserve recognition for making a different in their community.
The winners will be selected and receive two tickets to PMQs for September 14th as well as a tour of the Houses of Parliament and tea on the terrace.
To nominate someone for an award, visit my website http://michelledonelan.com/awards and submit your nomination before Monday August 29th 2016.
As well as visiting the website, hard copy forms can be requested by contacting my office on 01249 704465 or by emailing email@example.com
I hold surgeries every Friday as well as regular meetings throughout the constituency. To book an appointment please call 01249 704465 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
