As Minister for Higher and Further Education I have been leading the charge for a skills revolution in this country. Constituents will know I have long championed this cause whether through our Festival of Engineering, celebrating the fantastic Wiltshire College or speaking out on the benefits of apprenticeships and alternative opportunities for young people. 
By providing young people with skills today, we provide them with the job of tomorrow.
So I wanted to check you hadn’t missed the £3.8 billion announced in the budget for the UK’s skills revolution which will achieve a number of important aims I have long pushed for:
1. Quadrupling the number of places on Skills Bootcamps 
2. Expanding the Lifetime Skills Guarantee on free Level 3 qualifications (A Level or equivalent) where as before you couldn’t get them for free if you were over. 24 
3. Improving adult numeracy skills through the new Multiply programme to help everyone get on and progress 
4. Extra classroom hours for up to 100,000 T Level students 
5. Opening 20 Institutes of Technology 
6. Upgrading existing Further Education Colleges across England.
