I have been pushing and pushing for the re opening of Corsham station since before I was elected and today we have secured £50,000 from the Governments “Restoring your Railway” fund. The money will go towards the studies needed and the detailed required fleshing out of business case. The Ministers in the Department for Transport have assured me that we are the right ‘track’ to deliver Corsham station!
This is excellent news for Corsham and the rest of the constituency because when we get the station it will reduce congestion and air pollution from people travelling in their cars to Chippenham and Bath to get the train.
