I have been contacted by a some residents who have expressed concerns in regards to PCR Testing for Covid-19. So I wrote to Dr Jenny Harries OBE, Chief Executive of UK Health Security Agency, to ask for an investigation to be carried out into this.
You might have seen on the news that the UK Health Security Agency launched an investigation into this matter which resulted in the suspension of testing at one private laboratory in the Wolverhampton area.
The incident was *isolated* to this laboratory and all samples are now being redirected to other laboratories for processing.
We all need to keep using the national free testing and can have faith in it - testing and taking up the vaccine are out best weapons against this virus.
Dr Jenny Harries OBE has assured me that testing availability is unaffected around the country and there is no evidence of any faults with lateral flow tests or PCR tests.
