Education is a key pillar of our mission to spread opportunity across the country and I have always fought to increase the support for pupils and schools in my constituency. Last week, I hosted an online roundtable with local secondary school headteachers and the Schools Ministers, providing an opportunity for schools to get their concerns across but also speak about their experience of the pandemic. I was pleased to hear the Minister thank the schools and all their staff for their hard work in the face of unprecedented challenges, setting out how we are supporting pupils recover and make up for lost time. Education must remain a priority in the recovery from the pandemic and I will continue to champion learning in Parliament and do whatever I can to support our schools here in Wiltshire.
