Independent newspapers 
, such as Melksham News, champion the voices 
, stories and issues of local communities which is why their readership is so high. It is common sense that advertising would be more effective in these types of newspapers.
This is why I asked the Deputy Prime Minister to meet with Joe McCann from the Melksham News where he was able to put forward his case as a valued local employer and trusted news source. I will be following up with the DPM in due course to see what changes can be made to support this sector, as I do for all business sectors in my constituency.
