A pleasure to open the Swindon and Wiltshire Careers Hub Annual Conference in Chippenham this Thursday, talking about how important it is for local young people to be able to access high quality skills training as well as the importance of giving them high quality careers information.
Great to meet so many people passionate about careers, skills and our young people. We have a wide range of amazing companies from large to small here in Wiltshire. I want to ensure they continue to grow and create more jobs so people can live and work here and young people get the information about these opportunities.
The government set up Careers Hubs to bring together schools, colleges, employers, and apprenticeship providers. Hubs also offer schools and colleges dedicated support from the local hub team and facilitate partnerships with key employers committed to improving careers across an area.
The Careers Hub made use of the brilliant new Business Cyber Centre I helped secure the £3.7 million Government investment for.
