Update on Lloyds Bank Melksham

Last Friday I convened an urgent meeting with Lloyds Bank PLC to discuss their awful decision to close the branch in Melksham on 15 February 2022.

I pushed Lloyds hard to reconsider this disastrous decision 🏦. I also asked Lloyds as a bare minimum to consider opening a mobile branch service 🚐 to cover Melksham and I am pleased to update you that Lloyds will consider if this would be viable and keep me updated.

I made the point that the notice is not reasonable. The alternative they have said for local people is the post office - I don’t think that’s good enough for loyal customers. I will also be following up with Melksham post office to talk to them about capacity etc and the impact of this decision.

I will continue to make the case to Lloyds to reverse this decision and I look forward to updating you all on my progress.

Many parents have raised concerns with me about the changes at Melksham Oak school. I met with the school as soon as the problems were first raised. I have been underwhelmed with the improvements made since my original meeting. When the recent changes happened I requested another urgent meeting w
