I recently visited The Hub in Bradford on Avon. The Hub located in Church Street, Bradford on Avon, is a Charitable Trust made up of three sponsoring bodies; Bradford on Avon Churches Together (BACT), The Town Council and BoACAN (Bradford on Avon Community Area Network).
The Hub offers a variety of services for local residents, including; a work and IT club, a debt advice service, welfare benefit/tax credit advice, dementia services and a food bank. They also have rooms available for the community to hire.
Community hubs like these are tremendously important for local people. It was inspiring to hear about the level of volunteering and the level of enthusiasm. It is a wonderful resource for Bradford on Avon to have and the town should be very proud of the work that Hub co-ordinator Avril Clarke does.
Bradford-on-Avon, Wiltshire is an area you would not necessarily associate with all of these needs but the fact is there are always people who need these services and do not know where to go or who to turn to. The Hub is a comprehensive package where the town’s organisations are pulling together to cater for people’s needs. I would like to thank everyone involved on behalf of the town.
