Do you think we need more cycle paths in Wiltshire?

I believe that we need to invest to create more cycle paths in Wiltshire.

I am delighted and fully support Wiltshire Council’s endeavours to encourage people to leave their cars at home and use other methods of transport.

A keen cyclist myself, I enjoy cycling through our lovely villages and along our quiet country lanes. However, I have experienced first hand the need for dedicated cycle paths on our busy main roads.

There is a severe problem– we simply do not have enough cycle routes. Cycling is an excellent form of exercise, reduces congestion which in turn helps the environment.

Next month I will be meeting Transport Minister, The Rt Hon Patrick McLoughlin to put a case forward for consideration of a grant for dedicated cycle paths in our area.

Connecting Wiltshire has done some fantastic work formulating cycle routes across Wiltshire for more information see

However we need more cycle paths!
