Celebrating National Library Day

Michelle Donelan with Basil in Bradford on Avon Library
Yesterday was National Library Day – I visited Bradford on Avon library and Melksham library to meet with staff and local resident users. Libraries are an amazing resource and there is no substitute for a good book. I do not have that much time for using one but I decided to make time and support our libraries. So I signed up for a library card myself – as with all services we need to use them to retain them.

Our libraries and the people who work within them are an invaluable resource to the community. Plus over 600 volunteers contribute to libraries in Wiltshire. Even if you find it hard to visit your local library, you can now even borrow E-Books for your car, mobile phone, iPad or eBook reader. All of which are available 24 hours a day by using a home computer. Plus if you are like me and worried that your busy schedule might mean that you incur fines – fear not as you do not get fines with the e-book system.
