As part of my busy Friday schedule I visited St Mary’s Broughton Gifford Primary School, The Manor Primary in Melksham and St Paul’s Primary School in Chippenham. I talked to pupils about my role as an MP in Parliament and answered a vary interesting and diverse of questions plus listened to what they want for our community.
I believe it is incredibly important to engage children in democracy. Education is the key to ensuring all children have a fair and equal shot at life. The children I meet are always incredibly engaged and keen to learn how they can get involved. They are a real credit to their school, teachers and of course parents.
I have been campaigning hard to get fair funding for our local schools so they can continue to provide outstanding education and provide our children with the resources they need to learn.
